part of the event was I would have to say it was the people, especially the other referees. Every year I get excited about the Grand Finals event because I get the opportunity to travel somewhere new and see the friends I've made over the past decade. Many other referees have also been attending for the past 4 - 5 years or some more. Although we bust are asses to get the job done, in the end we also have a good time. I have to admit the first 2 days are always hell for me. They're usually 12 - 14 hours (sometimes more) standing on my feet with little or no break. But when day 3 rolls around and we don't have to get up till 10 the next day, we usually hit the town and get in a little bit of our own fun in. On top of running the event we also get first row seats to watching some of the best gamers in the world compete. That's always cool. What do I think about this years event? Last year's event in China was close to perfect in every way, but I've watched the WCG get bigger and better every year so I am anticipating that this year's event in LA will be the best yet. now I was given yet again an opportunity to be a referee to the most prestigious cyber-gaming tournament in the world. I always refer to WCG as the Olympics for cyber-gaming. A referee plays a big role - they have the most difficult and crucial task in this event. Apart from being able to experience the true gaming atmosphere, meeting the best players in the world, playing the best game machines and making new friends are what keeps me coming back.
