The WCG 2009 Grand Final Come to a Successful End!!!

82,000 spectators from all over the world enjoyed the largest e-sports festival

Team Korea (South) takes the first place with 3 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals

The WCG 2010 Grand Final will take place in LA, USA.

 

 

(November 15, 2009, Chengdu, China) The World Cyber Games 2009 Grand Final came to an end with a big success on November 15 in Chengdu, China. This is WCG's 9th Grand Final and again proved to be the world's largest computer and video game festival.

 

Total of 82,000 spectators and about 600 journalists from all over the world came over to Chengdu to watch the world top 600 players from 65 countries. After competitive 4 days tournament, Team Korea (South) ranked 1st place with 3 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals, followed by Team Sweden, and Team Germany.

 

At 6:00 pm on Nov. 15th, the Closing Ceremony began with the big carnival after the closing match between Fly100 (China) and Infi (China) with ten thousands of spectators before the main stage. Mr. Fu Yonglin, the vice mayor of Chengdu City gave a speech in the closing ceremony. At the end of the Closing Ceremony, when Mr. Fu Yonglin, passed the WCG flag to the representative of Los Angeles, Mr. Aaron Rupert from the U.S. Consulate General Chengdu, spectators and players gave a long round of applause to congratulate the champions, and to promise to reunite at the WCG 2010 Grand Final.

 

The WCG 2010 Grand Final will be held in Los Angeles, USA celebrating the 10th anniversary of the WCG Grand Final.
